I am a first-generation Filipina-American and I’m sure you and I have a lot in common (insert item here). If we weren’t being asked “where are you from?” and “what are you?” we were eating rice every meal and wondering why our classmates didn’t, or we were saying Tagalog words and not realizing that other people don’t know what we mean!

Now that I and my generation are grown and contributing to our society in other ways, I realize how important and how wonderful my heritage is. I’m glad and proud to be a Filipina-American in business through my web development company 10K Webdesign; as well as through business blogging at A Successful Woman.

As a minority in so many ways, I feel like I have a responsibility as well as an honor to occupy that niche. Who else is with me? Are you a Filipina-American businesswoman? Connect with me and let’s see what we can do to educate, empower, and inform ourselves.

Warmly,

Monica S. Flores
