Hi, Noems! Thank you for the filtering tips. The sites we’re filtering out of FilipinaImages.com (for Google Adsense) are not the “enemy,” let’s make this very clear. Since this is a website that provides diverse, empowering images of the Filipina, the google ads need to be consistent with this goal. I know I’m preaching to the choir here. - Lorna

Noemi,
This is great info!
I wanted to put Adsense on my blog last year but didn’t know how to filter those sites. So I didn’t move forward.
I’ve since decided to not include adsense at all but if I change my mind I’ll be coming back to this article.
Thanks again

Thanks for the info. I used the list for my blogger sites.

There is a website listed in your “filter out” list run by the husband of a woman born and raised near Butuan City in the Philippines. I have visited the Philippines 5 times and know the culture there. You are claiming such site is against promoting the image of Philippines while at the same time asking people to blacklist this site which can help provide financial support for a Philippine based family. How does your request assist in cleaning the image of Filipina?

there is no such thing as this campaign would shape the filipina images. WE ARE ALREADY KNOWN TO BE THE “GOLD DIGGER” of this era. Publishing such information on block listing some websites that are not even pornographic is such a big scam which you are trying to tell the whole internet industry that your site is the best one to go for. Well, then thanks for that, but you should still justify your cause and effect to this campaign. There is no way you can stop our fellow filipinas to go online and search for their financial fortune or even a soulmate. I am not objecting to this campaign but telling the whole world and publish the sites that you thought would be bad for our fellow filipinas is not really a good idea. You should only filter out those pornographic sites and not those site that are helping most of our fellow filipinas to look for their greener pasture by getting online. Stupidity does not really based on an online thing if some filipinas are not really as fortunate as the others have become. So please this is rubbish.

There’s no one to be blame for this thing happening to filipinas who found their partners abroad and ended having a suffering life overseas. PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT is one of the biggest factor that contributes to this issue, because of POVERTY!!!!
March 13th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
those listed in the filter is only for adsense publisher not for Google indexing. It means, we don’t want to earn income from these dating websites. It does not mean we are against the dating websites but we don’t promote ads from Filipina dating/matchmaking sites whether run by Filipino or a foreigner.
You are free to promote your site in any way you can as we are free to filter ads/
March 13th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Yes you can block any site you wish from displaying ads on your own site, that is your choice and we do not enforce our views of this on you but your post is advising others to also block these sites from their advertising for the reason that we are marketing towards a Filipino community which is the same community you are claiming to improve the image of. We are not blaming you for blocking us but we take GREAT OFFENCE to having you tell people how to block a Filipino owned website by the actual site domain or name.

Gosh, I feel degraded to see those other posts defending the cause of these ‘meat vendors’ using love as a façade!
Okay, let’s admit that poverty may be a cause and marrying a foreigner is the fastest way of filling up the larder but how can any decent Filipina readily marry someone she barely knows? Is it really love or just ignorance and misplaced cravings?
More power to Websites that filter websites promoting on-sale love!
March 14th, 2008 at 10:59 am
Cliff. What an assumption you are making here by the claim that she will “marry someone she barely knows” when you obviously don’t even know our story. Is this what you think Filipino’s who find love online do? I had been to the Philippines on vacation three times before we got married and have been back twice since. We had spent many hours chatting on the phone and the Internet prior to even my first visit. I toured many parts of the Philippines with her including Cebu, Manila, Bohol and Mindanao to meet her family, friends and work collogues. I had stayed in the family home and got to know her parents, brothers and sisters long before we got married. We made a decision to get married and spend our lives together based on mutual understanding and the love that is between us, not “misplaced cravings”. Websites that allow the opportunity for these relationships to begin are not the enemy for people who are willing to give them a fair try.

Geoff. I’m sorry if I touched a nerve and I’m glad that you are not one of those I encountered here in Europe who think that Filipinas are a cheap prick.
But you cannot blame me if I find Filipina dating websites like banners in a butcher shop putting on-sale prime cuts of ‘gigot d’agneu’ in bold letters.
How would we know that those who would avail of the services would be as gentleman as you, considering the proliferation of human trafficking for prostitution targeting mainly the women of the third world?

My husband just painted an image me which I feel is less than flattering, but all is true. I sometimes wont go into the CR at night because there is a lizard (tukro) in the comport room and I am afraid of the lizard.

@leny- Lorna will make your husband’s post an entry with comments. It will be a special entry and not posted in the comments so all our visitors can comment on it. Give her a day or two as she is travelling right now.
We also edited out the url to your dating site.

Comments are closed. If you have problems with the Filter, respect our decision. We choose not to show dating websites in our google adsense.
You have your own dating/matchmaking site or business to run. If you have an issue with an organization outside FilipinaImages.com, then tackle it with them. Better yet, write about it in your own website instead of placing comments in here. We won’t waste our time defending our campaign as we have better things to do.
We reserve the right to approve comments.
