After Charice Pempengco, another Filipina may well be on her way to musical stardom. McDonald’s employee Mary Margaret Yu came back to the country triumphant last April 20 after competing in the finals night of “Voice of McDonald’s 2008” held in Orlando, Florida.

Reading this article got me teary eyed. Another touching life story of a Filipina.

Janina, Janina…

Nope, this is not going to be a post of ridicule. You have had enough of that already. Tama na!

  1. You are now an instant celebrity
  2. Your videos are among the most watched vids in Youtube. (no kidding!!)

  4. In spite of almost everyone saying that you are a disgrace , think about this : When you are in the Ms. World pageant, I am sure that more than 50% of those who ridiculed you will be rooting for you. If there is internet voting, we will vote for you!!!
  5. You are still young. At age 17, you are allowed a few mistakes here and there. Some young people your age are making worse mistakes than speaking poor English. (more…)

Another filipina who has gained news coverage is Baicon Macaraya, who is enthroned as Queen for helping the poor of her war-torn hometown, Marawi City. She gave up her career to help her people. From providing pans to reconstructing houses, she and her organization has done. Read more about her in Inquirer.

There are a lot of Filipinas out there with a good heart. And she is just one of many.
