The title caught my eye… and I was excited to read through, expecting to read Analiza’s whole life story… feel her pains, and empathize with her feelings. I was ready to read the drama of her life!

Though this is what I have to say to Analiza:

There is nothing to be ashamed of being a housemaid.

I too, worked as a housemaid, at the tender age of 13. My step sister paid for my tuition in high school, but did not give me an allowance. On Saturdays, I worked for a classmate, whose live-in boyfriend was an American. I washed their clothes by hand and scrubbed their floors for P20.00 pesos. This was back in the early ‘80s, when P20.00 pesos were enough for a 13 year old girl. During summer, I worked as a housemaid too, up until I was in college.

I am happy for Analiza. I wish her well.

Sadly, I was disappointed. This article did not deliver…
