<description>Hello, everyone from Amsterdam! Just got in a few hours ago --- and I'm still at the Schiphol Airport waiting for my ride to the lovely city of Utrecht, The Netherlands. There are no trains going to this city for the weekend. But that's another blog entry. This airport is a shopping paradise. I even found out that buying a SIM card for 24 euros is good for other EU countries. I'm totally wired. I'm at their internet cafe, using my laptop. The great part is that I don't have to spend 6 euros for 30-minute session on one of their computers. My blackberry 8830 is on global roaming so I'm using its international phone as modem feature. Yes, no more need of WIFI!

Regarding the FWN Summit: The past few days have been quite a whirl of activity. There are a lot of Filipina women we can be truly proud of --- and I'm so glad to meet many of them who truly make a positive difference in the lives they touch.

Thank you for the congratulations greetings. I feel a little weird because I'm normally the one doing the nominations for recognition events (and my nominees make it 90% of the time). Being honored is an awesome responsibility. People expect more from me. I'll probably still be behind the scenes most of the time since I'm helping train emerging community and professional leaders be the best they can be.

Anyway, I do have the list of the 100 women. I have to coax Doris Alfafara here in Utrecht to scan the pages for me, if she can, so I an upload it to the website (and yes, since FWN hasn't updated its entries yet). There is generally a magazine that comes out in honor of an FWN event --- so let's see when this one will come out.

In the next few months, there will most likely be a series of blog postings related to the Overseas Filipino Migrant Workers. I'm attending a Filipino Experts Meeting on Oct. 29 and 30 --- and this group is tasked to prepare for the Nov. 2 European Overseas Filipino Migrants Conference.

FYI: I learned a new term at FWN this weekend --- OFP. Overseas Filipino Professional. Talk about spinning the image of the Overseas Filipino contract worker to Overseas Filipino Professional. And so be it!
